Fatal incident at charity event in downtown restaurant

Late in the evening of December 5, 2025, a fatal incident occurred at a restaurant on Schillerstrasse during a private charity event.

According to the findings of the criminal investigation department so far, a 52-year-old man, co-owner of the restaurant “Frost & Flamme,” was in the back of the premises when he fell to the ground for reasons that are still unclear and suffered serious head injuries. Despite immediate resuscitation measures by guests present and the emergency services, the man died at the scene.

At the time of the incident, a previously announced charity event was taking place in the restaurant with invited guests, representatives from politics and business, and members of the press. The event was canceled after the incident.

The criminal investigation department has launched an investigation. The crime scene was extensively secured during the night and examined by forensic specialists. The exact sequence of events and possible criminal motives are the subject of the ongoing investigation.

The police are asking witnesses who were in the area of Schillerstrasse or near the restaurant “Frost & Flamme” at around 8:30 p.m. and who made observations or took photographs to contact the criminal investigation department on 02953 - 948 700 200.
